Mike's Cars is conveniently located at 345 Hillside Road where you will find our unique yard that has something of interest for everyone. We have a full after-sales service department where we aim to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction. We organize our quality vehicles to be appraised by the AA (Automobile Association NZ) with all cars prepared to the highest of standards. You'll also receive a 6month mechanical warranty with options of extended full cover for up to 36 months on most vehicles.
We take pride in offering the 'bring no money and drive away today deal' our flexible finance plans range from the no deposit deal to using your trade vehicle as a deposit or a cash deposit.
Our Team
Mike Wellington is a born-and-bred Dunedin man, with a lifetime passion for cars and motorsport, he felt fuelled by the desire to prepare and sell quality vehicles to Otago and the surrounding area. Knowing there was no better brand than the number one top seller for the past 17 years, he gladly accepted the opportunity to take over the 100 per cent Toyota car yard. Together with his family - who have owned and operated local businesses for more than 50 years - Mike felt the time was right to re-brand and offer a high caliber range of imported Toyotas, alongside the New Zealand-new vehicles. "We wanted to bring Dunedin the most affordable Toyotas in the market," Mike says.
After 12 years in the motor industry Mike certainly has an eye for what the market wants, While finishing his commerce degree at the University of Otago, he worked for a sizeable car yard in Dunedin and upon completion, he moved to Wellington for three years to manage a European/sports car yard.
Mike says returning to Dunedin to take over an existing yard appealed because of its unique position as the only non-franchise Toyota dealer in Otago/Southland. (As quoted from "The Star" – July 2006)
